once in a lifetime dog, quiet and gentle to live with and a born show girl. She was top puppy bitch at Crufts 2000 being beaten to the top puppy slot by Ch Shielhill Bran to Kilbourne, who was interestingly sired her 1st litter in 2004 and also went on to become a champion. The judge was Denise Courtney. Skylark continued her winning ways with 12 CC'S 7 BOB'S and 6 Reserve CC's She was R B.I.S. at the Deerhound Club Show 2002 and Top Deerhound 2003. She qualified and was invited to take part in the prestigious 64 top dogs in the U.K. but it clashed with our club show 2005. Her daughter Greyflax A Kind of Magic was B.P.I.S. alongsaide her in 2005. She has produced 2 litters, we had despaired as she missed twice and wel felt she must be infertile until tests showed we had to mate her on day 5 of her season, trust Skylark to be different! From her first litter of 5, 3 are being shown successfully in the u.k. Greyflax A Kind of Magic Greyflax Myth to Kilbourne and Greyflax Mystic to Jamailson and Greyflax Fabel is in Germany with our friend Anna Schmeer. Her second litter was born in August 2005, Glenis and Mick Peach have a very promising male Greyflax The Mighty Quinn, while Monica and Steve Gibb have returned to the U.S.A. with Greyflax Miles to go where we hope they will have some fun with him. With only one bitch in this litter, Greyflax Angel, we had little choice, we have kept her and so far she is looking nice. Having been out of the ring since her win at the breed show in April 2005. We decided her 'swan song' would be in the veteran class at Crufts this year. She is carrrying a little excess weight, but was fit and well muscled . Our judge Mrs Eve Hamilton gave her the reserve CC, we were delighted, but just the joy of running in the ring with her for the last time was a wonderful and really quite emotional. She will stay at home and now hopefully not get any fatter but as an accomplished thief (and very spoilt) - don't hold us to that! May 2007 Skylark is no longer with us, she has left a legacy which we are thrilled with, her daughter Greyflax A Kind of Magic, son Ch Greyflax Myth to Kilbourne and GreyflaX The Mighty Quinn to Kilbourne, to name a few, carry the torch.
